Gas prices are going crazy around the world. Here are a couple of apps to help you find better prices and track your consumption.
GasBuddy (USA Only)
GasBuddy helps you find the nearest Gas stations and prices so you can judge where to get the best prices. GasBuddy can automatically do this by your current location, you can also search by City or Zip code.
Mileage
Mileage helps you keep track how many miles you are getting to the gallon.
Google Maps Navigation now automatically routes you around bad traffic and you don’t have to do anything different to use this new feature. Previously the navigation would route you through the fastest path available without taking into account traffic conditions. Like most new things Google this is still considered to be in Beta so use at your own risk and use some common sense.
The Android Market search is just atrocious, I’m not sure how a search company could make a search product as bad as the search in the Google Android Market app is. But finally someone has come out with an alternative app that will search the Android Market called Chomp. Chomp returns much more relative results but seems to lack and not show anything for less popular terms. I tried searching for RSS Reader, Netflix, and Movies and all returned good results. I then tried Nagios and it returned “We couldn’t find any result for Nagios” but there are a couple of good Nagios apps. The interface is much nicer than the Android Market App as well. Chomp displays the apps screenshot, description and user rating in a well presented box which you can slide to see the next app. All in all it seems like a good app but if you don’t find what your looking for don’t rule out the Google Android Market app or Alternative App Markets.
