The Android Market search is just atrocious, I’m not sure how a search company could make a search product as bad as the search in the Google Android Market app is. But finally someone has come out with an alternative app that will search the Android Market called Chomp. Chomp returns much more relative results but seems to lack and not show anything for less popular terms. I tried searching for RSS Reader, Netflix, and Movies and all returned good results. I then tried Nagios and it returned “We couldn’t find any result for Nagios” but there are a couple of good Nagios apps. The interface is much nicer than the Android Market App as well. Chomp displays the apps screenshot, description and user rating in a well presented box which you can slide to see the next app. All in all it seems like a good app but if you don’t find what your looking for don’t rule out the Google Android Market app or Alternative App Markets.
