There are also a lot of other phones coming out without keyboards and I think both should be in the market because it's totally user preference. I have a G1 and a myTouch and generally prefer the onscreen keyboard when using both phones but there are some things in terminal mode that a myTouch just cannot do easily where a keyboard is much nicer.
