Yesterday Apple introduced iPhone OS 4.0. Once the subject of endless speculation and a mountain of rumors, we now know this summer’s newest OS release will feature multitasking, new revenue opportunities for developers and better enterprise support, to name just a few of the new offerings. What struck me about the Apple presentation, however, was not the ingenuity or the originality of the new features. No, what struck me is that I had seen almost all of them before in Android 2.1.

Multi-Tasking on the iPhone is NOT the same thing as on Android… iPhone 4.0 has no real multi-tasking when all music-apps uses services and when you switch app, you only pause the app and resume another app. So… Android still got better task-managers and a lot more in the Multi-Tasking experience.
I agree Android may pose a threat to Apple, but I think Google needs to do a few things…
Allow vcard import;
Allow screen captures without USB connection with the SDK;
Allow removal of text below homescreen icons; &Make videos showing use of Android found what mist users (not just techies) want to do with phones.
You can do 2 of the 4 things you listed. 1 of them needs root access, the other one you can do with the right app. The other 2 may also be available with rooting or other apps but I am not familiar with them. Taking screen captures is possible on any screen in any app with the Screenshot app with a rooted android phone. Removing icon labels is available with several different alternate home application. My favorite (as well as free) alternate home app is LauncherPro which has the option to remove icon labels
