You can now pick up the Samsung Galaxy Tab direct from T-Mobile for $249.99. You’ll of course need to pick up a 2 year agreement with the Tab, locking you in directly past the incoming wave of Gingerbread tablets this Summer.

You can head back to one of our reviews of the Samsung Galaxy Tab here or on SlashGear if you wish, we’ve gotten our hands on at least three different Tabs from three different carriers, and T-Mobile is definitely one of them. What do you think, Community, is it time to pick up a Tab, or is it way too late?

If it’s right on time, head over to T-Mobile now!

The fusion of cutting edge hardware and radical user interface improvements proves iOS has catching up to do.

Depending on who you asked at yesterday’s Android Honeycomb launch event in Mountain View, California, the latest upgrade to Google’s (GOOG) mobile OS was either a revelation or another iterative upgrade.

Some of the attendees I spoke to shrugged when I asked what they thought.

“Looks like just the next natural step for the OS,” said one.

If you can’t wait until Feb. 13 to get your hands on the HTC Inspire 4G you’ll be happy to know that The Shack has your back. You can preorder the Android device tomorrow from Radio Shack and you’ll even get a $30 accessory credit.

The HTC Inspire 4G is a solid Android smartphone that will be part of AT&T next-generation mobile data push. We generally feel that this is a Desire HD with HSPA+ support for AT&T but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

AT&T CEO: We’ll Push Android Phones

February - 1 - 2011 - Tuesday 4 COMMENTS

NEW YORK (AP) — The CEO of AT&T Inc. on Thursday said the company will start “very aggressively” marketing smart phones based on Google Inc.’s Android software now that it will no longer be the exclusive carrier for Apple Inc.’s iPhone (NewsAlert) in the U.S.

So far, Verizon Wireless, AT&T’s chief competitor, has been the biggest supporter of Android. But it will start selling the iPhone on Feb. 10, and is likely to shift resources away from Android.

MuzzlePhone Android App

January - 20 - 2011 - Thursday ADD COMMENTS

Website: MuzzlePhone
Price: Free (for limited time)

Its author catchily describes MuzzlePhone as a filter for your ringer. Essentially, the app provides an easy way to manage different phone profiles. You can set up custom ring profiles based on who is calling you or at what time the call is coming in.

For instance, if you don’t want to take calls from a colleague who has a bad habit of doing so outside normal working hours, you can add them to MuzzlePhone and set it up so that their calls are silent after 6pm on Mondays to Fridays. In fact, you can set the phone to stay silent, vibrate only, or ring for any contact on any given day of the week.

Verdict
MuzzelPhone makes it easy to manage phone profiles for different callers and as it’s currently free, there’s no reason not to check it out.

It’s pretty much a given that HP will leap into the tablet wars full force with an announcement on February 9, all but certain to involve the WebOS platform it purchased Palm for last year. But can a WebOS tablet compete effectively against Apple’s iPad juggernaut and the rash of Android tablets coming from every direction?

The problem isn’t if the computing giant will deliver an attractive product. Palm’s development of the WebOS for phones was well-received from the design perspective, including offering multitasking at a time when the iPhone didn’t handle it. The question is whether offering a cool tablet based on yet another platform is going to be enough to make a dent against the competition.
